Welcome to the innovative cultural model platform Kiel_ Greenline.
Our goal is to culturally enrich our region in a time of transformation and to create sustainable structures.
Kiel_ Greenline primarily combines cultural work in times of transformation with the creative economy. Transformation can be beneficial when new ideas and approaches are developed. Together with Kiel partners and friendly cities, the project aims to see this transformation as an opportunity and use geographical conditions and geopolitical developments to advance sustainable cultural cooperation that is linked to economic developments.
Kiel_ Greenline is being developed step by step and cooperates with local, nationwide and European institutions, such as universities, which research sustainable cultural work models and provide an extensive database.
Kiel_ Greenline will regularly host panel discussions, lectures, delegate programs and art productions, as well as create spaces for social discourse and provide a platform for cooperation and partnerships.
The platform for exchanging ideas about cultural, economic and ecological sustainability in the region, which was extremely successful last year, is to continue this year and will continue to take place once a year in the future.
In addition to presenting lighthouse projects in this area, the current geopolitical situation and its influence on the cultural scene in Northern Europe should also be a thematic focus.
Sustainable practices are also gradually influencing the cultural sector and the music scene — we see this as an opportunity to break new ground, open up new markets, deepen cooperation and plan productions more sustainably.
This year, we are focusing on the Flanders region. Venues, organizers, festivals and ensembles from northern Germany and the countries of northern Europe will also have their say. We would like to be inspired by innovative planning and cooperation approaches, particularly from border regions, in order to benefit from their pioneering models.
In particular, the meeting aims to address ensembles, festivals and cultural institutions from our federal state and beyond. Presentations and panel discussions with representatives from the Flanders Arts Institute, the management of the Concertgebouw Brügge, Only Connect — Nymusikk Oslo, the creative Platform iii, the Modulus Foundation, the Rewire Festival The Hague, the Scottish Music Centre and EM Guide are planned. Regional players such as Klangpol Oldenburg-Bremen, Pulse Bremen and Neue Freiheit — the Schleswig Cultural Forum will also be represented.
